Discovering Orlando's Historic Downtown Neighbourhoods and Parks

Downtown Orlando offers a welcome reprieve from the purpose-built areas in the southwest of the city, which have only been created to accommodate travelers. In fact, many of the historic downtown neighborhoods beautiful, offer a wide variety of architecture, and give you a sense of community to live in the regular people actually live and work.

Just around the downtown core are a number of beautiful places that are good for exploring on foot. Some of the streetsare paved, so it the perfect destination to go for fourth.

After visiting Loch Haven Park, on this gray and rainy day, we decided to go south, park our car and explore some of the central parts of the city on foot. We parked in Lake Cherokee Park, admiring all the way around the lake and enjoyed the upscale architecture and the wildlife on the lake.

We led from Lake Cherokee to Lake Lucerne, just south of downtown Orlando core. Several fountains adorn the middle of the lake and you get a perfect view of the architecture of downtown Orlando.

Orlando has given a surprisingly high number of public parks with special facilities, recreational opportunities for residents and tourists. With the help of the city of Orlando's website I get a list with some of the special outdoor public have compiledFacilities, Orlando has to offer. These places are very cheap golf course, Loch Haven Park - Orlando center of culture and science, the Dickson Azalea Park, a variety of wetlands, an ecology center, camping and much more. In a word, public spaces that offer free or inexpensive recreational and educational opportunities:

Lake Cherokee is bordered by a 3.8-acre scenic park and the Lake Cherokee Historic District, a residential area surroundedArchitecture representing virtually every significant period in the history of Orlando.

Lake Eola Park is a popular destination in the city to use with many people to the beautiful surroundings to walk at lunchtime or evening. The sidewalk that circles the lake is 9 miles in length, so keep the visitors an overview of their walking or running distances. Orlando Loch Haven Park covers 45 hectares and serves as prime minister of the region, cultural park. Nestled betweenThree lakes, Lake Estelle on the north, Lake Rowena in the east, and Lake Formosa in the south of the park is on North Mills Avenue and Princeton Street. The park was renovated in February 2001. With the help of the many museums or theater groups in the parks, there is always something new to see or do. The lawns in the middle of the park are wonderful places to sit and enjoy the view of the lake in the shadow of the majestic oaks. One of the oldest and largest oak trees, Central Florida's, "TheMayor ", grows in the park near Orlando's Mennello Museum of American Folk Art

Just minutes from downtown Orlando, Dubsdread Golf Course has the oldest public layout in the area, originally designed in 1923. This classic course has plenty of history, she as the former site of the Orlando Open, when on the premises such as golf legends as Sam Snead, Ben Hogan and Claude Harmon added. Today, all golfers, the same beautiful scenery and challenges of the treatedoriginal course, including narrow fairways and heavily bunkered greens. The Mayor Carl T. Langford Neighborhood Center provides a natural oasis in downtown Orlando. The center is a shady oasis of mature oaks, wide sidewalks, green lawns, birds, butterflies areand play a lot of space for the children. Small children love the swinging bridge over the creek and the playground. There is a great educational and fun nature programs offered in this beautiful center.It neighorbood offers an annual Summer Nature and Arts Camp, as well as family and corporate picnics at a reasonable price. The Mayor Carl T. Langford Park is a beautiful place for a picturesque wedding ceremony at a good price to have. The Central Florida Folk, Inc. makes the secondSunday of each month through fall and spring.

The Wetlands Park is a great place to come relax and enjoy nature. The most popular activities are bird watching, nature photography, jogging and cycling. Nature lovers are welcomed at 1650 acres of hardwood hammocks, marshes and lakes. There are more than 20 miles of roads and forest trails crisscross the park

Enjoy a walk through time as you meander along Fern Creek in historic Dickson Azalea Park is located inthe street from the City of Orlando’s Mayor Carl T. Langford Park. The Washington Street Bridge was constructed in 1926 and is reflective of many bridges found in South Florida. The lush landscaping, singing birds and flowing water are a treat to many visitors. This park is an oasis for those needing a quiet place to eat lunch or to reflect when this area was a watering hole years ago for cattle ranchers to quench the thirst of their cattle in Ferncreek. The dragonflies, shady trees and Rest Dickson Azalea Park are a must for people of all ages to see live.

Enjoy a day of family fun and games in the city of Orlando's beautiful 300-acre Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake. Open all year round, seven days a week this park has something for everyone. A swimming pool is open for those hot summer days, large pavilions for large group picnics are for rent and small sun shelters for family gatherings are available on a first come, first serve basis are available. Wellstocked lake for fishing is tempting to all anglers from beginners to experienced. A children's farm is on the spot as a relic of the era of farm property. The Ecology Center has an air-conditioned conference room. Camping is an inexpensive destination for people from all over the U.S. and the world who visit Orlando and area attractions. Another area has houses and grills for nature based group retreats or bunk bed supervised youth groups. Park visitors are offered a varietynature-oriented activities including: hiking, baseball / softball, volleyball, cycling, and a large playground for the children.
